Bulk first
Debris, sheeting and the heavy dust come out first, with HEPA vacuums instead of brushes so the fine particles leave the building instead of going airborne.
Renovation dust gets into everything: sockets, radiator fins, window tracks, the top of door frames. We clear it in stages so the final clean stays clean.
Plaster, MDF and brick dust behaves nothing like household dust. The particles are far finer, they carry a static charge, and they get drawn into every gap in the building: behind sockets, inside radiator fins, under skirting edges, into window tracks, through the gaps around loft hatches. Clean a room once and it will look dusty again the next morning, because the dust still in the cavities settles out overnight.
That is why a single clean after building work is usually a waste of money. We work in stages: a first pass that removes the bulk and the debris, then a full builders clean once the dust has had a chance to settle again, then a final sparkle clean immediately before you move in or hand over. Each pass has less to do than the last, and the final one holds.
We work for homeowners after extensions and refurbishments, and directly for builders, developers and shopfitters across Plymouth who need a property handed over presentable. For commercial handovers we can also pick up the ongoing commercial cleaning once the space is in use.
The most common mistake we see is booking the clean for the same day the builders finish. Trades are still carrying tools through, and the air is still full of dust that has not settled. Book the sparkle clean for a day or two after the last trade has left and you will get a dramatically better result for the same money.
It is also worth being realistic about what cleaning can and cannot fix. We remove plaster, paint spots, dust and adhesive. We cannot repair scratched glass, fill chips in new paintwork, or make a badly finished silicone bead look good. Those are snagging items for your builder, and we will point them out so you can raise them while you still have leverage.
What contractors need from a cleaning company is reliability on a date that keeps moving. We are used to that. Give us the programme and we will stay in contact with the site manager, reschedule without drama when a trade overruns, and turn up with enough people to clear the building in the window you have.
We can work in occupied buildings alongside other trades, on new build plots before handover, and on commercial fit-outs where the client is walking in the next morning. Our teams carry their own power, water containment and waste removal where needed, and we will provide RAMS for your site file before we arrive.
New build cleaning is its own discipline. Everything is unused, which sounds easier, but there is a specific list that catches people out: protective film on appliances, baths and windows; manufacturing dust inside kitchen units; plaster dust inside every socket and switch; label adhesive on glass; grout haze on new tiles; and silicone smears on freshly fitted sanitaryware.
We work to a handover checklist on these jobs so the buyer or tenant walks into a property with nothing left to pick up on. If you are a developer with multiple plots completing on the same date, tell us early. It is a team job and we will plan the labour around your completion dates.
Post-construction work is always quoted after we have seen the property or photographs, because the volume of dust and the amount of paint and plaster removal vary enormously. We price the job, not the hour.
| Project | Typical duration | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Single room refurb | Half day | Often a one-pass clean |
| Kitchen or bathroom refit | Half to full day | Includes inside new units |
| House extension | 1 to 2 days | Usually two staged passes |
| Whole house renovation | Team, 2 to 3 days | Three stages recommended |
| New build plot handover | Quoted per plot | To a handover checklist |
| Commercial fit-out | Quoted on programme | Out of hours available |
Send photographs with your enquiry if you can. They tell us more about a post-construction job than any description, and they let us quote accurately without a site visit. See the full Plymouth cleaning price list.

Dust still in cavities and ceiling voids drops overnight. Cleaning before that happens is why so many post-build cleans look dusty the next morning.
The final pass is detail only (glass, frames, hardware, inside units) done immediately before move-in or handover so it is what the client sees.
Send a few photos and your target handover date. We will tell you how many passes the property really needs and quote the whole job as one fixed price.
Many customers combine two or three services into a single visit: just mention it when you ask for your quote.
Covering the whole of Plymouth plus the surrounding towns and villages.
It is always quoted on the property, because dust volume and the amount of paint, plaster and adhesive removal vary hugely between jobs. As a guide, a kitchen or bathroom refit is a half to full day, a house extension one to two days, and a full house renovation a team for two to three days. Photographs with your enquiry let us quote accurately without a site visit.
A day or two after the last trade has left, not the same day. Builders are still carrying tools through on the final day and the air is still full of dust that has not settled, which means a same-day clean looks dusty again by the next morning.
Construction dust is extremely fine and gets drawn into sockets, radiator fins, window tracks and ceiling voids. Whatever is still in those cavities settles out over the following nights. Staging the work (bulk removal, full clean, then a final detail pass) costs little more than one thorough clean and is the only way the result holds.
Yes. Plaster splashes, paint spots, silicone smears, adhesive and label residue are standard parts of the job, using the right scrapers and solvents for each surface. What we cannot do is repair scratched glass or chipped paintwork. Those are snagging items for the builder, and we will flag them.
Regularly. We handle staged cleans on refurbishments, new build plot handovers and commercial fit-outs, we provide RAMS for your site file, and we are used to programmes that shift. Tell us the completion dates early if you have several plots landing together.
We remove leftover packaging, protective sheeting and general cleaning waste. Construction waste, skips, plasterboard offcuts and anything requiring a waste transfer note for controlled waste stays with your contractor. That is their legal duty of care rather than ours.
Tell us what you need and we'll get back to you fast with a clear, fixed price. No pushy sales, no hidden fees: just a spotless result.
