Regular house cleaning that stays done

Most people who call us have tried a cleaner before and been let down: someone who cancelled at short notice, rushed the job, or sent a different person every fortnight. Regular domestic cleaning only works when it is predictable, so that is what we build the service around: one named cleaner, one agreed time slot, and a written list of what gets done on every visit.

We clean houses, flats and bungalows right across the city, from Victorian terraces in Mutley and Peverell to newer family homes in Plympton, Derriford and Plymstock. Visits usually run between two and four hours depending on the size of the property and how much detail you want each time.

Everything is supplied: professional products, microfibre cloths colour-coded by room, and a commercial vacuum. If you would rather we used your own products because of allergies or a particular finish in the house, that is completely fine; just tell us at the quote stage.

What is included in a regular domestic clean

Your cleaning plan is agreed before the first visit, so nothing is left to guesswork. A standard domestic clean covers:

  • Kitchen worktops, splashbacks and sink descaled
  • Hob, extractor front and appliance exteriors wiped
  • Microwave cleaned inside and out
  • Bathroom suite cleaned, descaled and polished
  • Shower screens, tiles and grout wiped down
  • Mirrors and glass streak-free
  • All floors vacuumed, hard floors mopped
  • Carpets vacuumed including edges and under furniture where accessible
  • Dusting of surfaces, shelves, sills and skirtings
  • Beds made or bed linen changed on request
  • Internal doors, handles and light switches sanitised
  • Bins emptied and liners replaced
  • Stairs, landings and hallways cleaned
  • A quick tidy so rooms are left presentable, not just clean

Choosing how often you need a cleaner

There is no single right answer, but after years of Plymouth homes we see a clear pattern. A weekly clean suits families with children or pets, shared houses, and anyone working long hours. Nothing has time to build up. A fortnightly clean is the most popular choice for couples and smaller households, and works best when you handle the day-to-day tidying between visits. A monthly clean works for quieter homes or holiday properties, though it usually needs a longer visit because dust and limescale return.

If the house has not had a proper clean in a while, we normally recommend starting with a one-off deep clean and then moving onto a regular slot. That way the first regular visit starts from a clean baseline instead of chasing months of build-up in two hours.

Who cleans your home

Every APS cleaner is interviewed in person, reference-checked, DBS-checked and trained on our room-by-room method before they are sent to a customer. They wear uniform, carry ID, and are covered by our £5m public liability insurance.

You will be introduced to your cleaner at the start, and they stay with your property. If they are ever ill or on holiday we will tell you in advance and offer a cover cleaner who has been briefed on your plan. You are never left with an unexplained no-show, and you are never charged for a visit that did not happen.

Plenty of our customers are out at work during the clean and leave a key safe or spare key with us. We log every key, never label it with an address, and you can ask for it back at any time.

Ironing, laundry and the extras

Domestic cleaning is easy to tailor. Ironing is the most requested addition and is charged by the hour as part of your visit. We can also strip and change bed linen, load or empty the dishwasher, clean inside the fridge, wipe down the inside of kitchen cupboards, or add a full oven clean once or twice a year.

Some jobs genuinely need specialist kit rather than a regular visit: carpet cleaning and upholstery cleaning are the two obvious ones. We quote those separately so you are not paying regular-clean hours for work a machine does better.

How much does a domestic cleaner cost in Plymouth?

Regular domestic cleaning is charged by the hour, with a minimum visit of two hours. The figures below are the ranges we see across Plymouth in 2026. Your own quote is fixed before we start, so there are no surprises.

We quote by the hour for regular cleaning , not by the room, because an honest hourly estimate beats a fixed price that forces a rushed job. See the full Plymouth cleaning price list.

How it works

From first call to a cleaner at the door

1. Tell us about your home

A quick call or the online form: how many bedrooms and bathrooms, how often you would like us, and anything that matters to you.

2. We agree a plan and a slot

You get a fixed hourly price, an agreed day and time, and a written list of what is covered on each visit.

3. Your cleaner takes it from there

The same cleaner arrives on the agreed day. If anything is ever not right, tell us within 24 hours and we put it right free.

Ready to stop thinking about the housework?

Frequently asked questions

Across Plymouth, domestic cleaners generally charge between the high teens and mid twenties per hour in 2026, with agencies at the higher end because insurance, vetting, training and cover are included. We give you a fixed hourly rate up front based on the size of your home and how often you would like us, so you always know the total cost of a visit before we start.

No, and most of our regular customers are not. Many leave a key safe or give us a spare key, which we log securely and never label with an address. If you would rather be in for the first visit to show your cleaner round, that works well too.

Yes. Professional products, colour-coded microfibre cloths and a commercial vacuum come as standard, including eco-friendly and pet-safe options. If you would prefer we use your own products, for example because of an allergy or a particular worktop finish, just say so when we quote.

Yes. You are matched with one cleaner who stays with your property, which is the whole point of a regular clean. They learn your home and your preferences. If they are ill or on holiday we tell you in advance and offer a briefed cover cleaner instead of leaving you with a no-show.

The minimum visit is two hours, because less than that cannot cover a whole house properly. There is no contract and no notice period. You can change the frequency, pause for a holiday, or stop whenever you like.

Absolutely, and it is very common in Plymouth. Tell us about your animals when you book so we can use pet-safe products and your cleaner knows whether a door needs keeping shut or a cat should not get out.
