One-off cleaning in Plymouth, no contract

When a single visit is exactly the right answer

We get these calls every week. Family arriving on Friday. A viewing booked at two days' notice. Recovering from illness or an operation and simply unable to do it. Back from three weeks away to a house that smells shut-up. A party to clear up after. A flat to hand back to a friend. None of those need a standing fortnightly appointment.

A one-off clean is a single booked visit with a set number of hours and an agreed priority order. You tell us what matters most; we work through the list in that order so that if we run out of time, the things left undone are the things you cared about least.

It is also a sensible way to try us. A good number of our regular customers started with one visit, liked the result, and asked for a fortnightly slot afterwards. There is no pressure to do that, and no discount withheld if you do not.

What we can cover in a one-off visit

You set the priorities. A typical three to four hour visit comfortably covers:

• Kitchen: worktops, sink, hob, appliance fronts, floor
• Bathrooms: suite, shower, screen, tiles, mirror, floor
• Living areas: dusting, surfaces, vacuuming, tidying
• Bedrooms: dusting, beds changed, floors
• Stairs, hallways and landings
• Internal glass, mirrors and door handles
• Bins emptied and relined
• Hard floors mopped throughout

How to get the most from one visit

Be ruthless about priorities. The most common mistake is asking for "the whole house" in three hours. That gets you a thin clean everywhere instead of a proper clean where it counts. Tell us the two or three rooms that matter and we will do those to a high standard and tidy the rest if time allows.

Clear surfaces and floors beforehand if you can. Moving your things is the slowest part of any visit, and every ten minutes spent shifting clutter is ten minutes not spent cleaning. And mention anything that must not be touched: a work desk, a record collection, a child's carefully arranged shelf.

One-off clean, deep clean or end of tenancy?

The three get mixed up constantly, so here is the honest distinction. A one-off clean is a normal clean, done once, within a set number of hours. A deep clean is a much longer fixed-price job that includes inside appliances, grout, limescale and every skirting board. An end of tenancy clean is a deep clean worked against a letting inventory, with a re-clean guarantee attached.

If you are moving out of a rented property, do not book a one-off clean to save money. It is not built for an inspection, and a reduced deposit will cost you far more than the difference.

Short notice and awkward hours

We hold some capacity each week for short-notice work, so if you call on a Tuesday for a Thursday there is a decent chance we can help. Evening and Saturday slots are available and we do not charge a premium for them.

We cover the whole city for one-off work, including the city centre, Devonport, Crownhill and Plymstock, plus Saltash, Ivybridge and Tavistock.

One-off visits are priced by the hour with a three-hour minimum, and the total is fixed before we arrive.
